LASG Suspends Market Activities In Central Lagos

LAGOS, Nigeria – Lagos State Government has directed that commercial activities in Dosunmu Street and its immediate environs in Lagos be suspended immediately until further notice, as a result of a fire incident which has engulfed the area.

Reacting to the fire incident, the Special Adviser to the Governor on CBD, Hon Mrs. Bola Olumegbon Lawal, who is keenly monitoring the incident, said the measure became necessary in order to prevent loss of life and maintain peace and order in the area.

Hon. Lawal stressed that market women and men in the area should make way for emergency respondents who have timely responded to the incident to effectively perform their duties.

The fire, which started in the early hours of today, has already brought down two buildings, while efforts are ongoing to stop the raging fire.

Areas affected include Dosumu, Nnamdi Azikwe, Moshalashi, Woro Pedro, Obanikoro Streets.

Others are Ago Tawa, Idumagbo Avenue, Idumagbo , Ido – Oluwo and Oju Olobun Streets.
