Alimosho Council Boss Tackles Lagos Assembly ….Says ‘I Was Suspended For Refusing To Hand Over Iyana-Ipaja Market’

The embattled chairman of Alimosho Local Government, Hon Jelili Sulaimon, has accused the Lagos State House of Assembly of suspending him for refusing to hand over Iyana-Ipaja Market to the proxy of the Speaker Mudashiru Obasa, known as Ejigbadero.

The chairman while addressing his supporters at the council Secretariat recently described his suspension as ‘social media talk’.

The suspension, according to the Assembly, was due to what they termed as non-compliance, defiance, and an unyielding attitude towards the directives of the legislative body.

The House of Assembly, led by Speaker Mudashiru Obasa, had directed that the Vice Chairman of Alimosho, Mr. Akintunde Olabode, take over the leadership of the council pending further directives.

However, Hon. Sulaimon vehemently refuted the Assembly’s decision, dismissing his suspension as mere “social media talk.”

Though, the Lagos State Ministry of Local Government Affairs initially issued a letter to Mr Olabode to resume as the Chairman of Alimosho, another letter has stopped his resumption.

The second letter was predicated on the fact that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu was yet to ratify the suspension by Lagos State House of Assembly.
