APC Clears Samuel Ajose For Lagos Governorship Primaries
A leading Lagos State All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant, Dr. Samuel Mawuyon Ajose (SMA), has been cleared to participate in the party’s forthcoming governorship primaries after successfully scaling through the APC screening exercise held in Abuja on Sunday.
Dr. Ajose was cleared following what members of his team described as an impressive performance during the rigorous screening process ahead of the Lagos APC primaries scheduled for 21st May 2026.
The development sparked celebrations among his supporters across Lagos State and parts of the South West, with many describing the clearance as a major boost to the SMA political movement.

Dr. Ajose arrived at the screening venue alongside a large delegation comprising traditional rulers, religious leaders, political stakeholders and key opinion leaders from Badagry Division, reflecting the growing support for his governorship aspiration.
Speaking shortly after the exercise, Dr. Ajose expressed appreciation to the party leadership and his supporters for their confidence in him.
“I am deeply humbled by the confidence reposed in me by the party and by the massive show of solidarity from our leaders and the people of Badagry and beyond,” he said.
He added that his ambition represents the aspirations of Lagos residents seeking a more inclusive style of leadership.
“This is not just a personal victory; it is a victory for every Lagosian who yearns for inclusive, compassionate, and transformational governance. We move forward, against all odds, towards the primaries with faith and determination,” Dr. Ajose stated.
The SMA Media Team, in a statement after the screening, described the clearance as “a cheering confirmation of Dr. Ajose’s impeccable credentials and unwavering commitment to the progress of Lagos State.”
