Bishop Ajose’s Funeral Rites Begin Tuesday
The funeral ceremonies of late Bishop Dr Theophilus Taiwo Ajose, who died on Saturday, May 16, 2026, will begin tomorrow in Lagos.
According to the burial committee, the Christian Wake Keep would hold on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at Senator Oluremi Tinubu Lagos CAN Secretariat Hall on Otunba Jobi Fele Way by 4.00pm.
The burial service would be held at the same venue on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, by 10.00.am.
The interment would hold thereafter with the close family at a private vault.
Bishop Ajose who until his death was a Special Adviser, Special Duties to the CAN chairman and Executive Secretary of Nigeria Christian Pilgrims Commission, Bishop STV Adegbite was also the block secretary of CPFN/PFN and national secretary of Renewed Ministers of Christ among many others.
BIOGRAPHY OF BISHOP DR. THEOPHILUS TAIWO AJOSE
Bishop Dr. Theophilus Taiwo Ajose was born on May 31, 1965, to Samuel Abiodun Ajose and Florence Ahisi Ajose, of the esteemed Jegen and Wawu Royal Ruling Houses of the ancient Badagry Kingdom in Lagos State, Nigeria. He was a distinguished son of a noble lineage renowned for its rich heritage of leadership, honour, and service to humanity.
Born as one of a set of twins, Taiwo and his twin brother, Kehinde, began their educational journey at St. Thomas Primary School, Badagry. Upon completing their primary education, they proceeded to Badagry Grammar School, where they received their secondary education. Throughout their formative years, the twins distinguished themselves through diligence, academic excellence, and a commitment to personal development, laying a solid foundation for future accomplishments and service to society.
From an early age, Taiwo and Kehinde displayed exceptional intelligence and an unwavering commitment to excellence. They consistently strove for perfection in all their endeavours and distinguished themselves academically. Taiwo served as the Class Prefect, exhibiting remarkable leadership qualities even as a young student.
Their grandparents played a pivotal role in their upbringing, ensuring they were firmly grounded in the Word of God. They instilled in them a deep love for Scripture, teaching them to memorise and recite extensive portions of the Bible. By heart, they could recite numerous Psalms and passages of Scripture, a discipline that shaped their spiritual foundation and lifelong devotion to God.
Taiwo and Kehinde excelled academically and graduated with distinctions in the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) examinations. While still in secondary school, they surrendered their lives to Christ. This decision was particularly significant given that their father was a socialite; yet they chose a different path, dedicating themselves to Christian values and principles. Together, they made a lifelong commitment to abstain from alcohol, a promise they faithfully upheld.
Their outstanding academic performance earned them scholarships to study Biochemistry at Lagos State Polytechnic. Thereafter, they gained admission to Lagos State University (LASU), where they continued to excel under scholarship awards. Their academic achievements were so exceptional that when questions were raised regarding the frequency of their scholarship awards, the university authorities reviewed their records and affirmed that every award had been earned strictly on merit.
While at the university, Taiwo and Kehinde earned the admiration and respect of both students and lecturers. Their lecturers became more than teachers; they became mentors and friends, often visiting their home to provide guidance, encouragement, and academic support.
Throughout his life, Bishop Ajose experienced numerous situations that could have derailed his destiny, yet he consistently testified to God’s divine protection and deliverance. He was a man of unwavering faith who trusted God completely in every circumstance.
Bishop Ajose was renowned for his generosity and compassionate spirit. An astute giver, he willingly shared whatever he had with others. This spirit of generosity was deeply rooted in the values instilled by his parents, who taught him kindness, selflessness, and concern for the welfare of others.
As a prince from both his paternal and maternal royal lineages, Bishop Ajose naturally attracted people and maintained strong relationships across diverse communities. He touched countless lives through his leadership, mentorship, wisdom, and genuine love for people.
Fasting and prayer were not occasional spiritual exercises for him; they were a way of life. His devotion to God was evident in every aspect of his life and ministry. He was also exceptionally neat, orderly, and meticulous, carrying himself with dignity, excellence, and grace.
Bishop Dr. Theophilus Taiwo Ajose was a distinguished scholar and lifelong learner. He held a Bachelor’s Degree in Science Laboratory Technology with a specialisation in Biochemistry, a Master’s Degree in Theology, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Marketing. He further earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Christian Education and a Doctorate in Christian Theology from the International Miracle Institute, Texas, USA.
Beyond theology and ministry, Bishop Ajose distinguished himself through continuous learning and professional development. He acquired several professional certifications in modern technology, including Linux Programming, Cybersecurity, Website Design, Digital Marketing, and Social Media Operations. He also obtained certifications in Economics, International Business, Operations Management, and Strategic Management, from the International Business Management Institute (IBMI), Berlin, Germany (2019), demonstrating his commitment to excellence, innovation, and effective leadership.
In 2023, he obtained the Google Tag Manager Fundamentals Certification from the Google Analytics Academy. He also earned the PRINCE2 Foundation Certification from the Office of Government Commerce (OGC), United Kingdom.
Over the years, Bishop Ajose received numerous awards and commendations in recognition of his outstanding contributions to ministry, leadership, and community development. He also held several strategic leadership positions in both religious and civic organisations, serving with distinction, integrity, and a deep commitment to social transformation.
In recognition of his lifelong impact on humanity and unwavering commitment to service, he was honoured with the prestigious 2024 United States President’s Lifetime Achievement Award by President Joseph R. Biden Jr.In 2017, the State of Georgia, USA, conferred upon him the distinguished title of Honorary Georgia Citizen and Goodwill Ambassador in recognition of his outstanding contributions to humanity and community development.

Throughout his career and ministry, Bishop Dr. Theophilus Taiwo Ajose remained deeply committed to nation-building, interdenominational unity, leadership development, youth empowerment, and the promotion of ethical governance. His visionary leadership, intellectual depth, and unwavering dedication to service inspired religious leaders, professionals, policymakers, and emerging generations across the globe.
Above all, Bishop Ajose was a devoted husband and loving father. He was married to Dr. (Mrs.) Nkechi Ajose, and together they were blessed with a daughter, Miss Maugbe Adaku Ajose. He cherished his family deeply and remained committed to their well-being and growth throughout his lifetime.Indeed, Bishop Dr. Theophilus Taiwo Ajose lived a life defined by faith, excellence, discipline, generosity, scholarship, and service. His legacy continues to inspire all who encountered him. He remains a shining example of transformational leadership, spiritual excellence, integrity, and global impact—a man whose life reflected wholehearted service to God, humanity, and national development.
Though he has departed this earthly realm, his influence endures in the countless lives he touched, the institutions he strengthened, the leaders he mentored, and the kingdom values he so passionately upheld.
