CAIDOV Commiserates With NLC Over Death Of Secretary General, Comrade Emmanuel Ugboaja

The Centre Against Injustice and Domestic Violence (CAIDOV) has received with deep sorrow the news of the passing of the Secretary General of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Comrade Emmanuel Ugboaja.

In a statement, the Executive Director of CAIDOV, Gbenga Soloki, described the death as a great loss to the labour movement and to Nigeria.

According to him, “We received the news of the passing of Comrade Ugboaja with sadness. He was a committed trade unionist who dedicated his life to the welfare and dignity of Nigerian workers. His commitment to fairness, dialogue, and justice will be remembered.

“At CAIDOV, we understand that the struggle for justice in the workplace and the struggle for justice in the home are connected. The late Secretary General stood for the protection of vulnerable persons and the rights of workers. That legacy must be sustained.”

On behalf of the Board, Management and Staff of CAIDOV, Soloki extended condolences to the President, National Administrative Council, National Executive Council, affiliates and entire membership of the NLC, as well as to the immediate family of the deceased.

He prayed that Almighty God grants the NLC and the bereaved family the strength and fortitude to bear this loss, and that the soul of Comrade Emmanuel Ugboaja rests in eternal peace.

CAIDOV stands in solidarity with the NLC at this difficult time.
