Akpabio Slams ‘Cyber-Terror’ Frame-Up: Senate President Drags Social Media Fabricators To DSS

ABUJA, NIGERIA — Senate President Godswill Akpabio has officially petitioned the Department of State Services (DSS) to investigate a viral social media post containing an “anti-north statement” falsely attributed to him.

The petition, authored by his Chief of Staff, Chinedu Akubueze, labels the circulating quote a calculated attempt to stir regional animosity and political instability ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The fabricated graphic claimed Akpabio warned that northerners would “suffer the most” if President Bola Tinubu lost the next election.

Denying the statement in its entirety, the Senate President’s office noted that the viral post lacks a venue, date, or audio-visual evidence.

The petition names several specific social media accounts as initial persons of interest and urges the DSS to track down the graphic designers and coordinators behind the disinformation network.
