Speaking Thursday night on Channels Television’s flagship political program, Politics Today, Galadima claimed he is part of a high-powered, seven-man committee drawn from various opposition parties.
According to Galadima, Fayemi—a prominent APC stalwart—is the mastermind coordinating this select group to orchestrate the president’s downfall in the next general election.
“There are seven of us, including former Governor Kayode Fayemi, who are working together,” Galadima declared during the broadcast.
Laying out the group’s tactical playbook, Galadima argued that a formal, singular coalition ballot entry is legally unfeasible under Nigeria’s current electoral frameworks. Instead, he proposed a multi-pronged assault.
The opposition plan, he explained, is to field several strong candidates across different party lines to scatter the votes, before ultimately shifting all collective weight behind the single candidate best positioned to defeat Tinubu.
Galadima added that in a completely free and fair contest, NDC candidate Peter Obi would easily emerge victorious.
The allegations have triggered an immediate and fiery pushback from Fayemi’s camp, exposing the deep undercurrents of suspicion within the political landscape.
Ahmad Sajoh, the head of Fayemi’s media office, issued a swift, scathing denial, describing Galadima’s claims as entirely baseless and a fabrication.
Sajoh firmly reiterated that the former governor remains fiercely loyal to the APC, both at the national level and in his home state of Ekiti, dismissing any notions of a clandestine cross-party alliance.
As the dust settles on Galadima’s explosive remarks, political analysts are already warning that the revelation could trigger intense internal scrutiny within the APC, signaling that the battle for 2027 has begun in earnest—well ahead of schedule.
