SDP Presidential Candidate Adewole Adebayo Mourns Afenifere Leader Pa Reuben Fasoranti
LAGOS, NIGERIA — The 2027 presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Prince Adewole Adebayo, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of revered Afenifere leader Pa Reuben Fasoranti, describing his transition as the end of an era and a monumental loss to the Nigerian nation.
In an official statement released on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, by his Campaign’s Chief Media and Communications Adviser, Comrade Mark Adebayo, the presidential hopeful paid glowing tribute to the late elder statesman.
He noted that Pa Fasoranti left behind unforgettable legacies of integrity, unyielding patriotism, and a historic commitment to justice, equity, and progress.
“Pa Reuben Fasoranti was a titan of truth and a pillar of moral fortitude,” Prince Adebayo stated.
“His long, meritorious life was entirely dedicated to the advancement of Nigerians and the realization of a truly democratic, restructured, and equitable Nigeria. He stood firm through the stormiest seasons of our national history, serving as a compass of wisdom when the nation needed direction most.”
Adebayo emphasized that Pa Fasoranti’s immense contributions to education, community development, and progressive politics remain etched in gold.
He further urged the current generation of political leaders to emulate the late sage’s selflessness and steadfastness in defense of the common man.
“We have lost a father, a mentor, and an irreplaceable nationalist,” the statement added.
