Soccer Tragedy! CD Tenerife Striker Jesús de Miguel Passes Away At 30 After On-Field Collision

The football world is in deep mourning today following the tragic passing of CD Tenerife striker Jesús de Miguel Alameda, who died on Tuesday morning at the age of 30. His death follows a catastrophic on-field collision during a LaLiga HyperMotion match against FC Andorra on Monday evening.

The incident occurred late in stoppage time at the Estadio Heliodoro Rodríguez López. In the 108th minute of play, Andorra goalkeeper Jesús Owono rushed out of his penalty area to clear a long ball, resulting in a violent, high-impact collision with De Miguel.

The striker immediately collapsed, prompting medical staff from both teams to rush onto the pitch.

De Miguel received emergency medical intervention on the field for more than five minutes before being urgently transported by ambulance to the University Hospital of Nuestra Señora de Candelaria.

Reports confirmed that he suffered a cardiac arrest and required active resuscitation while en route to the medical facility.

Despite the exhaustive efforts of intensive care teams overnight, his neurological condition severely deteriorated, and CD Tenerife officially announced his passing at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday.

De Miguel, a highly respected Madrid-born forward, joined Tenerife in the summer of 2025 after a standout campaign with CD Castellón, where his 16 goals helped secure promotion.

In response to the tragedy, the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) immediately postponed all competitive matches scheduled for Tuesday, including several Copa del Rey and Copa de la Reina fixtures.

UEFA has also announced that a moment of silence will be observed across all Champions League, Europa League, and Conference League matches this week, as tributes continue to pour in from major clubs and sporting figures worldwide.
