Tinubu Will Not Islamise Nigeria-Adegbite
….Commends Sanwo-Olu For Providing Enabling Environment
Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria, Lagos state chapter, Bishop STV Adegbite, has reassured Nigerians that the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu will not islamise Nigeria.
Speaking at a press conference in Lagos on Wednesday, Adegbite maintains that if Tinubu did not islamise his wife of over 40 years, he won’t islamise Nigeria.
He, however, enjoined all residents of Lagos to avoid inciting comments capable of heating up the polity, rather, he urged that the focus should be on things that can make the unity stronger and bring out the best in our diversities.
Adegbite however commended Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his leadership; not just in provision of an enabling environment for a peaceful elections last Saturday, but also for quickly reassuring all and sundry of the safety of all residents of the state.
The CAN chairman said since it was the church that requested for a Christian governor after the two terms of Babatunde Fashola, which led to the emergence of Akinwumi Ambode and now, Sanwo-Olu, it’s incumbent on the church to support him for the second and final term.
“ We also wish to use this platform to assure all members of the Christian faith that no one is in any form of potential danger of any kind, neither is their property, investments, or business concerns. The government of the state has promised to continue to provide a level playing field for all, and Lagos state will continue to be home to all and for all. “We urge everyone to go about their daily activities without any fear, concerns, or worries, and as it relates to the March 11, 2023 gubernatorial and state house of Assemby elections, an atmosphere of peace and tranquility is assured.” He said.
