OTOGE! Bode George, Olanrewaju, Bucknor-Akerele, Others Mobilize For LP’s Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour … Say Saturday Guber Election Is ‘Now Or Never’
Former deputy chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Olabode George has led the charge tnat Saturday’s gubernatorial election in Lagos state is a must win for the candidate of the Labour Party, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour.
George, who’s leading other indigenous lagosians under the aegis of Omo Eko Pataki, at a news conference in Lagos on Thursday, said it’s now or never!
Notable members of the group include former Minister of communications, Gen Tajudeen Olanrewaju rtd, former Lagos deputy governor, Kofoworola Bucknor-Akerele, while the director General of Peter Obi campaign organisation, Akin Osuntokun was also in attendance..
Rhodes-Vivour still basking in the euphoria of the February 25 presidential and national assembly elections was ushered into the venue of the news conference by Eyo masquerades.
Also in attendance were Rhodes-Vivours’s parents: Olawale Rhodes-Vivour and Nkechi Rhodes-Vivour and other siblings attended the carnival like conference.
The governorship Candidate of BOOT Party, Olawale Oluwo,who had earlier stepped down for Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour was also there.
George said winning the governorship for Labour Party on Saturday is the last opportunity to put the Lagos back on the right pedestal.
He said,” I remain a member of the Peoples Democratic Party , but I want to urge our members to vote for him on Saturday. It’s a child that one can be proud of. I have no qualms, I have no regret to support Gbadebo. And all my brothers and sisters in Omo Eko Pataki have all agreed to support the LP’s governorship Candidate.”
Also speaking in the same vein, Gen Olanrewaju rtd, said; ” I am really happy to join my brother, my childhood friend, Chief Bode George under the aegis of Omo Eko Pataki.
“We are standing strong. We are standing solidly behind our son-Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour. He’s going to reclaim the state back. It’s all those exploiting us that don’t want our liberation through Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour.
“My own father was a Councillor in 1951, representing Oluwole. “
To Bucknor-Akerele, vigilance is the price for eternal liberty.
She, however, urged the LP candidate and his supporters to be vigilant on Saturday. Don’t feel intimidated. “Mi o le wa ku, kii je oye ile baba re’, meaning that whoever wants to take over his father’s stool will not be intimadated by anyone.
The group later moved a motion for the adoption of Rhodes-Vivour by the Omo Eko Pataki group which attracted overwhelming ‘Ayes.’
Responding, Rhodes-Vivour said he is proud to be associated with the Omo Eko Pataki group.
“I’m very very happy to be endorsed by this forum. Some people have embarked on propaganda that I’m an ipob leader, that I’m an Igbo. feel very offended when some people from Ogun State will question my pedigree. I also want to honour the PDP for standing all this while in opposition because if they are not there, there will not be pathway for this victory. I thank you all.” He said.
