Desist From Dragging Odili Into The Messy Waters Of Your Failed Eight-Year Term, Eze Chides Wike

Erstwhile National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New People’s Democratic Party (nPDP) and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has described as indiscreet chatter and vain blabbing, claims by immediate past Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike that the success allegedly recorded during his term as Governor is attributable to the tutorial he got from Sir Dr. Peter Odili.

Refuting the claims wrapped in a vain display of self-glory and seasoned with a condiment of sarcasm, Chief Eze, in a statement made available to media houses in Port Harcourt said Wike, like a witty recanteur, deployed the technique of irony in describing his failed eight-year term as rather successful and merely mentioned Dr. Peter Odili as a decor in an attempt to bring his metaphysical conceit into the realm of truth.

He noted that it smacks of witting dishonor for Wike to drag Peter Odili whom he described as the father of Rivers politics into the mess he made of the State during the period he held sway as Governor, adding that no responsible citizen with a sense of discernment will validly subscribe to such fictitious averment.

“To link a leader like Dr. Odili with an administration that has been validated as worst in the annals of governance in Rivers State is unacceptable especially to people of conscience and keen observers of the political playground of the state. If Wike had achieved 50% of the success Odili recorded or 30% of Amaechi’s record, the state wouldn’t be at a staggering stage.

”In all fairness and sense of responsibility, Eze said Dr. Peter Odili is a democrat and father in the politics of Rivers State and given his impressive pedigree, the elder statesman couldn’t have advised Wike to run an administration that is averse to development and repugnant to justice and good conscience.”

It is derogatory to link Dr. Odili to a grossly wasteful, docile and useless administration like that of Wike that ran a state without fiscal policy and transacted public finance in a manner shrouded in utmost secrecy and grossly antithetical to every known norm of responsible finance management.

It is sheer idiocy for the immediate past Governor to attempt to drag Odili in the mud by trying to bring him to share in his legacy of monumental failure by claiming success where there is non and attributing same to the very respected Peter Odili.

No amount of concealment, vain blabbing and false claims by Wike will make Rivers people buy-in the phony narrative that Dr. Peter Odili taught him to run an administration squarely tainted with reckless financial prodigality; sharing Rivers money to other States while his own people wallowed in poverty and want.

If the former Governor wielded so much influence in the past administration as bogusly painted by Wike, Eze said the state secretariat buildings would not have remained in ruins, without any sound amenities; Odili couldn’t have advised Wike not to pay salaries and pension to civil servants and pensioners.

Dr. Odili, we know, couldn’t have asked Wike to witch-hunt those who played key roles in his political life.

In a recent report, the Institute of Chattered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) said Rivers State under Gov. Nyesom Wike is recorded as the poorest in fiscal performance and emerged the least transparent in the country based on the 2020/21 Accountability Index conducted by the institute.

In the same vain, the International Society for Civil Liberties and Rule of Law (Intersociety) on their part, listed the administration of former Gov. Wike alongside four others as the most wicked in the annals of governance in Nigeria.

The report contained in a statement signed by Emeka Umeagbalasi, Board Chairman, Intersociety, Chidinma Udegbunam, Esquire, Head of Publicity and Ositadinma Agu, Head of Int’l Contacts and Mobilization, the group said Rivers State under Nyesom Wike is identified as most atrocious sub-national entity governments in Nigeria.

Eze said it is degrading and in fact demeaning to link Sir Peter Odili with such an administration with a blatant record of capricious, wanton and depraved inclinations; that followed no clear principle of law and abandoned the state to her presents helpless, wayward fate and called on ex-Governor Wike, to tender an unreserved apology for dragging Sir Dr. Peter Odili to share in his failures.

The party Chief counseled Sir Sim Fubara to steer off Wike’s unholy advise for the few months he will be staying at the brick House for his own mental sanity as well as severe himself from those shameless shenanigans and evil, self-serving tricksters and snooping rabbits he has planted to snoop around him in a bid to bring to effect his plot for a third term in office.
