2027: FEPPA Condemns Kano Governor’s Largesse To Supporters

THE Federation of Political Parties and Associations, FEPPA, has strongly condemned what it called ” reckless misuse of public funds by the Kano State Governor just to compromise the electorate on his reelection bid.”

In a statement jointly signed in Abuja by the national chairman of the group, Comrade Mark Adebayo and its national publicity secretary, Comrade Mohammed Abdulrazaq, the group was unequivocal about its displeasure on what it describes as “advance bribery and fraud” by the KanoS tate Governor.

The statement reads “It has come to our notice the recent distribution of massive funds, lands, and cars by Governor Abbah Yusuf to hundreds of his supporters with the view of compromising the 2027 governorship election in the state. We have reasonable suspicion that the funds used for this reckless largesse were taken from Kano State resources and taxpayers’ money held in trust with the governor. We unequivocally condemn such reckless misuse of public funds by the Kano State Governor just to compromise the electorate on his reelection bid.

“A popular governor who has done well in office needs not bribe the people with such brazen mechanism of advance bribery and fraud. FEPPA will take immediate necessary actions within the purview of the law, including peaceful mass protests, to ensure that Kano State resources are utilized for fundamental development and general public good especially as it is being speculated that more of such irresponsible frittering away of public funds is still being planned even on a larger scale. As patriotic citizens, we will not allow such waste of public funds to persist in the name of planning to compromise the electoral process that the Governor knows that his poor performance in office cannot avail him to win in a free and fair election due to his unimpressive performance in office.”
